We've had a few things going on since our big London/Louisiana trip. Most importantly, we had Cora's first birthday!!
Her day began with slightly burned on the outside-not so cooked on the inside bear shaped pancakes and some strawberries. She preferred the strawberries.
That morning, we went to another little girl's house for a play date. It was her birthday, too! Cora's older by a few hours.
On her birthday eve, Cora had a birthday cupcake. She didn't like the cupcake, but she was quite excited when she found some banana buried beneath the crumbled up cupcake and ate it.
Then it was gift time!!! Her favorite gift? The $1 sandbox toys, of course!
But she also loved her dolly and gave her a big hug. (This is Cora's first and only "baby doll" and we find her not too creepy, so she's allowed to stick around. Most baby dolls creep me out. Especially ones that make noises, drink their own milk, and soil their baby doll diapers. Additionally, stuffed animals that make noises, move, and soil their diapers creep me out too and probably won't be kept in our house. Exception given to the one singing Elmo and the one singing Mickey Mouse that we already have. Gift givers, take note.)
FINALLY, Cora got to go outside and play in the sandbox her Daddy got her!! She loves it!!
A week or so after Cora's actual birthday, we had her third and final birthday celebration. Friends came over for delicious pulled pork bbq, venison backstrap, fruit salad, and birthday cake that no one ate and all had a good time!
Cora had the same reaction to her birthday cake as she did to the cupcake. "No thanks."
And thus ended the month-long celebration of Cora's first birthday! It was fun and I'm glad it's over with! Now we must plan for birthday #2!!! She'll actually be into things (ie. princesses, fire engines, WWE) by then, so we might have to have a theme.
