This past Sunday, I joined Joe and Melissa at the Krewe of Mutts parade in Baton Rouge. Moose and Lucy weren't able to join us, but we had a good time anyway! Obviously, Melissa and Joe were there.
And this kid was there. Mind you, it was probably in the upper 60s. I call this child abuse.
And now, for the dogs! There were tons of dogs and lots of dog poop! My coworker and I have been dodging poop on the sidewalk this week on our walks to get coffee, due to irresponsible dog owners. You know who you are! We had all kinds of festive pooches in the parade and acting as spectators! This costume would have had Lucy throwing herself in front of a car.

Here's Joe's favorite dog. The dog whose tongue does not go into its mouth. He/she's a trooper, this pup.
These fluff balls weren't dressed for the occasion, but they were way cute!
A Brass Band, in true Mardi Gras parade fashion, headed off the parade and the packs of dogs followed!

And cute lady bugs. See, Lucy, she's proud of her cute costume! Don't hide your flamboyant side!

The theme had something to do with Las Vegas, apparently. I didn't get the memo.

Here we have an LSU fan sporting the new NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP shirt and some sweat bands and looking quite handsome, indeed!
Elvis was feeling a bit shy and possibly shamed by his bad haircut. Lucy would have been in the car hiding with you, buddy.
Overall, everyone pretty much looked like clowns, but they wore their costumes with pride and were great sports!
I am beginning to think that sweatpants should be banned. She got lots of beads, though, that kid!
