In May, Andy and I went for a long-overdue trip to Tallulah! Virginia recently moved down there from Cleveland to live with Mom and Dad, AND The Shug was visiting that weekend, so it was a perfect reason (in addition to my being totally homesick) to go home!
Everything was beautiful at home, of course, and there was a very handsome Patterdale enjoying herself thoroughly.

Slim (who has very pronounced kitty-titties) climbed the tree in hopes of catching one of the thousands of humming birds that hover around all day long.

Ok enough of that. Of course, we ate very well while we were home. Mom got some crazy lamb piece of meat and it was still on the bone, so Dad decided that it would be a great idea to cut it like this. I put the kibosh on that soon after this picture was taken.
Virginia was looking quite well, so that was heartening! Ann was looking quite well to, and Andy! It's the farm. That's what it does to a body. Every evening, we went into the kitchen for drinks and Whales. Oh, whales. The generic substitute for Goldfish! But cheesier!

On the Saturday we were there, Dad put on a delicious crawfish boil! He and Andy went out to the boonies (they were gone for HOURS) and got these crawfish, and it was worth it!

Meanwhile, the hippies were hard at work getting the crawfish boil going!
Suzanne, Sam and Mike came to the party as well! Suzanne brought a big family album that I didn't get to look at but hope to see when we're home again. After this photo viewing, Suzanne proceeded to make herself a vodka or gin and tonic and accidentally poured the alcohol in her cup thinking it was the tonic. Undeterred, she made a funny comment and went on fixing her drink, very large shot and all!

Virginia was a trooper that day, and she looked beautiful! I'm so happy that she's in Tallulah; now I have even more reason to go home more often!

The crawfish was SO GOOD. I decided to take a cheesy picture with mine! That crazed look in my eyes means "back off my crawfish dude, or we have a problem".
Andy also enjoyed his crawfish and even gave a video instructional on how to peel a crawfish! Soon to be posted.
FINALLY, after stuffing ourselves with crawfish and other goodies, we had Key Lemon Pie! It was supposed to be Key Lime Pie, but mom got the Key Lemon juice instead of the lime, so we just mixed it up a bit. They were SO GOOD! Andy's favorite!
One source of concern while we were there was the fact that there are several alligators in the bayou now, and one of them was seen right by the driveway!! Luckily, they were further down while we were in town, so we lost zero dogs. Andy and I saw a big one while we were canacking in the bayou, and then saw these two from the Mule. Pretty cool!!
Our visit to Tallulah was, as usual, wonderful. It was so much fun visiting with Virginia and seeing her looking good, and visiting with The Shug, and of course my parents! I partook in a lot of doing nothing, which was awesome. I didn't even go to the outlet mall in Vicksburg! Only to the Military Park for a VERY hot run. Yay home!
