In January, we went to Cabo and spent a lovely week on the beach with family! In February, we went to Kirtland, OH, and spend a lovely couple nights with good friends (and family, too!) The Baustians met us at Virginia and Grandpa's house, which the Shug graciously let us inhabit for a couple nights.
Louis is Cora's bff. She loves Louis. He's cute, smart, fun, and he surely thinks the same of her.
While we were there, it snowed a bit, so that was fun for everyone. We did some hard core sledding in the yard, complete with Andy trying to sled (it didn't work) and Andy telling Joe to push Louis down a slope which resulted in Louis face planting. Another fail for Andy's score sheet. Louis did get to go inside and have some hot chocolate, though, so there's that bright spot.
The Shug hooked us up with all kinds of books, a penguin sled, and lots of other wonderful things. What a great host! Cora has so much fun with her Aunt Ann.
You know who else had fun (besides the kids and adults?) LUCY. That dogs needs to move to Kirtland full time. She was so happy. Sigh, city living isn't working out too well for poor Lucy.
One of the most awesome things we did, besides just being ourselves which is pretty awesome, was go to the Metroparks Farm Park down the road from the house. We WILL be returning to that place this summer when we meet again in Kirtland! It's a working farm perfect for kids. There are baby animals, you can milk a cow, etc. etc.
Whilst there, we celebrated Mom's birthday, which hadn't happened yet. Everyone wore their t-shirts, though!
Watch out boys of Virginia. You've got Midwestern competition. Is Michigan midwestern? Or would he be considered Southern since his first year was pretty much spent in Louisiana? I don't know.....If you are what you descend from, he's definitely considered Midwestern. Iowans....
