A Shout-Out for DAD

This is a story about my DAD. He's a DAD to be reckoned with. This story provides proof that my DAD is a bad ass law-abiding upstanding citizen.

Our story starts back a few years ago. DAD has a few rent houses which he rents out rather cheaply to sometimes questionable people who sometimes have questionable pasts. For instance, there was this one renter, the Felon Shoplifter, who apparently had/has very sticky fingers.

One day, DAD was out and about on the farm and saw three strange men loading the neighbor's lawnmower into a van. Being very quick to sense something fishy, DAD went over to investigate. Did I mention that DAD is quite brave as well?

Turns out, the three men weren't just there to give each other a hand with the yard work. They were stealing the lawnmower!!! When they saw DAD coming, they panicked and jumped in the get-away van. And guess who one of those men was? THE FELON SHOPLIFTER!

A high speed chase ensued with DAD following the Get-Away van until the thieves jumped out and ran away. DAD's no fool and has very quick thinking, so during the high speed chase he called the cops. The cops were able to take over and due to DAD's awesomeness, the lawnmower was returned to its rightful owner and the criminals were eventually apprehended. The Felon Shoplifter was on the lan for a little while, which was cause for lots of excitement out on the farm.

Our second segment of this story of bravery and cunning takes place in one of said rent houses that DAD rents out to sometimes questionable people. Turns out, the guys who lived next door to the Felon Shoplifter fit quite nicely into that category. They had turned the house that DAD so kindly rented to them into a METH LAB!!!!

Unfortunately, due to certain circumstances, there was no actual proof (besides the person who said that they were) that the guys were making meth in DAD's rent house, but it was pretty certain they were. DAD took control, got the cops involved again and they planned a stake-out to apprehend the suspects. Very exciting times again.

Eventually, the meth-manufacturers were caught, and this segment of my story fizzles out there because I don't know exactly what happened. Other than DAD having to go through the now totally disgusting rent house and fix and clean everything. But, DAD is such a hard worker and takes pride in what he does, so the house was back in good condition in no time.

Most recently, DAD had to put the hammer down in his own special way on the crummy electrician. DAD has been very nice to this creepy man for many years but finally, after having suffered through a long while in the heat of Louisiana September (it's hot as hell here in September) because the electrician wouldn't come out to the house to fix the broken air conditioner, DAD had enough. They needed a functioning air conditioner! I mean, REALLY!!!

DAD, being the take-charge man he is, called the creepy electrician and told him that under no uncertain terms would he get his tools (which he had left at the house for several days) back unless he returned to DAD the money for the work that he, the creepy electrician, NEVER DID. Well, this did not sit well with the electrician, who promptly started yelling at DAD and said, "I'm coming out to get my tools!!!" Being the smart man he is, DAD called the cops. Why risk anything when there is an enraged creepy electrician involved?

The Lazy Electrician wasn't so tough once he got out to the house, now was he?

All of these quite exciting stories ended up with justice being done (though I don't think he got the money back from the creepy electrician) because my DAD rocks. He also is a rescuer of dogs and cats, is quite adept at cleaning a septic tank, and is a wonderful and generous father in many ways, for which we are eternally grateful.
